Supplies Needed:
- 10-12 candy sticks, wooden skewers or chopsticks
- Anchor Hocking Glass Mixing Bowls
- Wilton #3 Decorating Tip
- Wilton Standard Coupler
- Wilton Black Decorating Icing
- Wilton Candy Eyeballs Large
Ingredients
- 1 cup yellow candy melts
- Yellow food coloring (optional)
- 10-12 large marshmallows
- 3 blue Fruit Roll Ups, cut into 1/4 “ strips at 3.5” long
- 1 tube of black decorating icing
- 24 candy eyeballs in assorted sizes
- 10-12 one-bite brownies
Instructions:
1. Melt the candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl for 20-second intervals, stopping to stir between intervals until melted.
2. Optional: Add a touch of yellow food coloring and stir well until you reach the desired yellow color.
3. Pierce each marshmallow with a candy stick, wooden skewer or chopstick.
4. Dip the marshmallow into the yellow candy melt and rotate it to cover the top and sides. Tap the skewer on the side of the bowl to get rid of excess candy and smooth the surface.
Lay a fruit roll-up strip along the bottom of the marshmallow. Set the stick into a tall glass so the candy coating can dry. Repeat with the remaining marshmallows.
5. Once the candy coating has dried, you can decorate the marshmallow. Pipe a thin black line, starting at the front, around the entire circumference of the marshmallow.
6. Pipe icing for the eyes and set the candy eyeballs in place. Pipe a mouth.
7. Carefully remove the stick from the marshmallow. Pipe a bit of icing onto each brownie and set the marshmallow on top.
Enjoy!
Notes
- This activity runs smoothly when you prepare all the necessary ingredients and tools in advance.
- If you don’t have wooden skewers, set the marshmallows right side up on a cooling rack over a baking sheet
- We used a #3 Wilton Decorating Tip. You can substitute this with a #2 decorating tip. Alternatively, you could also use a bag with a hole cut in the corner to pipe the icing.
- Tapping the excess candy melt from the marshmallows will ensure the surface is nice and smooth
