Minion Nutter Butters:
Ingredients:
- Nutter Butter Cookies
- Yellow candy melts
- Royal blue candy melts
- Blue sprinkling sugar
- Candy eyeballs
- Black candy melts
- Black licorice candy or Tootsie Roll candy
Instructions:
- Cut small strands from black licorice or Tootsie Roll candy. Twist the candy into strands to represent the minion’s hair.
- Melt the yellow candy coating according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the candy but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.
- Dip half of each cookie in the yellow candy. Place the cookie on waxed paper. Immediately add eyes and hair, if desired. Allow candy to harden completely before proceeding to the next step. You can refrigerate to speed the process.
- Melt the blue candy coating according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the candy but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.
- Dip the undecorated half of each cookie in the blue candy. Place the cookie on waxed paper. Immediately add sprinkling sugar, if desired. Allow candy to harden completely before proceeding to the next step. You can refrigerate to speed the process.
- Melt the black candy coating according to package directions giving special care not to overheat the candy. If the candy coating is overheated, it will be too thick. You can add 1 teaspoon of vegetable shortening or coconut oil to help thin the candy but do not add any other type of liquid as the candy will seize and harden.
- Pour candy into a zip top freezer bag or piping bag. Snip the corner and apply the candy to the cookies, creating the minion glasses.
- Allow candy coating to harden before serving. Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Placing in the refrigerator may cause the cookie to soften.
