Mexican Food Diet by Maru Davila
Maru is determined to inspire and empower people to get healthy, lose weight and improve their mood with delicious Mexican food. No hunger or deprivation allowed in the Mexican Food Diet.
Maru shares in her book, Mexican Food Diet, how she lost 60 lbs and how she keeps it off, all while getting in the best shape of her life. Her health improved and she feels better physically, emotionally, and mentally. She will help you learn why certain foods fuel your body, and how to pick the right ones. Plus you can lose 7 pounds in the first week without deprivation, hunger, boredom, bland foods, or excessive exercising. Then you will be on your way to reducing toxicity and inflammation, which are leading causes for most weight loss struggles and diseases. With her strategies you can get more energy, a calmer and happier mood, less cravings for junk, better sleep, improved digestion, and better self image.
Mom’s Thoughts
As soon as I got the book I read through much of the beginning. The principles and ideas are sound and make a lot of sense. I really was surprised that toxicity can actually prevent weight loss. The toxins are stored in fat cells, and you cannot burn them off until you get out the toxins. I have been struggling with my weight for a few years, and it just keeps moving in the wrong direction. This book seemed to know just what I was going through.
I cannot wait to really try it out. The book maps out each meal for a week and what you need to make them. In addition to sounding promising, it has some real yummy sounding recipes. Since the holidays are so tempting, I will begin my week in January so I can do it right. Then hopefully I can break my bad eating habits like skipping meals, and become less toxic. This book would make a great healthy gift for family and friends.
Skinny Salamis
Skinny Salamis are lovingly made in small batches. All their ingredients are the highest quality meats, and finest quality herbs and spices. These snacks are high in protein, low in calories, and gluten-free. They are slow cured, and currently come in six varieties. You can enjoy Duroc Pork, Black Angus Beef, and All-Natural Lamb. Most noteworthy is they have no added hormones, and are antibiotic free.
Mom’s Thoughts
These Skinny Salamis would make epic healthy gifts this Christmas. They are perfect for stockings, and the foodie family members you have. I had to hide them from my kids because they liked them so much they were trying to eat them all up on day one. Skinny Salamis were very delicious and had some exotic flavors. Since I like mushrooms, I was excited to try the Pork with Truffles. We loved the Angus flavors the best, but really they were all just so good. Plus they are low calorie, and high protein, so they make the perfect snack to take in your purse or backpack in case you need something on the go.
BAO Food and Drink
BAO Food and Drink use the process of fermentation to harness the best nature has to offer. They use salt and naturally fermented acids to encourage probiotics, or beneficial micro organisms to grow. Since we know these probiotics help create and support a diverse ecosystem in your gut, they are a huge help in digestion, absorption. Plus they help to boost your immune system.
Since they are salty, briny, and earthy tasting, BAO products work best as condiments added to your food in small amounts to begin with. BAO makes hot sauces, mixed vegetables, ketchup, Kombucha drinks, Liquid Pickle energy shots, and more.
Mom’s Thoughts
I have heard over the years how good fermented foods are to help balance out the gut. Since I give my kids probiotic pills, I love the idea of eating foods naturally rich with those beneficial micro organisms. Now I cook our eggs in the morning with the BAO hot sauce to start my day out well. Then if I feel sluggish, Liquid Pickle Boosts are great for an energy pick me up. The flavors are bitter and briny, but the health benefits are vast. My son likes the Kombucha, and I am happy to let him drink these beneficial beverages. BAO would make great healthy gifts this year just like the prior items. You could even do a gift basket with all three products in this review because they all aim to improve health and your over all well being.
