My Thoughts
I love when my kids find a new toy or game that doesn’t involve extra screen time. Not that there’s anything wrong with some TV or video games, especially if I work them into their education, but sometimes enough is enough. These building pieces from Magnaflex are colorful and easy to use, without making a total mess in case of an accident. They are magnets so of course there was a quick crash course through how & why magnets work. But the younger kids could care less why they work as long as they are fun. And the big kids quickly wanted to explore and imagine new creatures and inventions using the Magnaxflex pieces.
I appreciate that there are several sets or collections you can purchase depending on what your child might be interested in. One is for building vehicles, another for critters, and another for wearable products. Plus several others that would make great additions for birthdays or holiday gifts.
The kids can build both flat 2D objects or 3D pieces whether they are using the booklet of ideas that come within the box or check out other creations online. They are a neat design in that they snap together like magnets do, but they also bend and zip together to stay in place. Plus the kids can put eyeballs on their critters to bring them to life (along with funny voices too of course)!
I think these would make a great addition for classrooms as well. Kids could work individually or in teams to complete challenges or use them for STEM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) by following directions or their creativity, plus it is great with fine motor skills and coordination, not to mention sitting and working together.
