Ingredients:
- 12 Oreo cookies
- 24 mini pretzels
- 24 edible eyes
- 10 oz dark chocolate melts
- 10 oz white chocolate melts
- Yellow food coloring
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Directions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Break the pointed ends off the pretzels to create a “B” shape for the wings.
- Add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to the white chocolate and heat according to the package instructions until melted and smooth. Stir in a few drops of yellow food coloring until the desired color is reached.
- Place an Oreo in the white chocolate and flip using a fork to coat both sides. Gently tap the fork on the side of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate. Place on the prepared baking sheet and repeat with the remaining Oreos.
- Set in the freezer for 10 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely hardened.
- Add the remaining vegetable oil to the dark chocolate and heat according to the package instructions until melted and smooth.
- Dip the Oreo about ⅓ of the way into the dark chocolate and place it on the baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining Oreos.
- Before the dark chocolate hardens, gently press two eyes into each Oreo.
- Drizzle chocolate over the remaining part of the Oreo to form the bee’s body.
- Dip the pretzels into the dark chocolate and gently press them onto the Oreo to form the bee’s wings. This will harden and stick.
- Place in the freezer for another 10 minutes, or until everything is completely hardened.
- Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
- For a more vibrant yellow, use gel food coloring instead of liquid food coloring to avoid altering the consistency of the chocolate.
- Be sure to let the chocolate completely set in the freezer to ensure the cookies are easy to work with.
