Materials Needed:

Craft Stick Lobster

  • Craft Sticks, Jumbo – Dollar Store
  • Craft Sticks, Regular – Dollar Store
  • Wiggle Eyes – Dollar Store
  • Craft Felt – Red, Pink
  • Chenille Stems – Red
  • Marker, Black – Dollar Store
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks – Low Temp Works Best
  • Acrylic Craft Paint – Red
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • PATTERN- Print it HERE

Craft-Stick-Lobster

Instructions:

STEP ONE: Gather all supplies. To create the lobster, line up three jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim additional jumbo craft sticks to the width of the lobster and attach with a glue gun and glue sticks. Craft Stick Lobster

TIP: You can use liquid craft glue for this project, but you will have to wait for it to dry.

STEP TWO: Basecoat the lobster with red acrylic craft paint. Paint two regular craft sticks with red acrylic craft paint. Let dry, and apply a second coat, if necessary. Use washable markers, crayons, or even colored pencils to color the jumbo craft sticks. Craft Stick Lobster

STEP THREE: Download, print, and cut out the lobster patterns. Trace the claws twice, the head and the tail onto red craft felt.  Craft Stick Lobster

STEP FOUR: Cut out all the patterns with scissors. Make sure to cut inside the traced lines so you end up with a clean finished project. Craft Stick Lobster

STEP FIVE: Attach the head to the top and the tail to the bottom with a glue gun and glue sticks. Glue the red craft sticks to the back of the claws. Attach the claws onto the right and left sides of the lobster’s body with a glue gun and glue sticks. Craft Stick Lobster Craft Stick Lobster

STEP SIX: Attach two wiggle eyes with a glue gun and glue sticks. Cut out two circles from pink craft felt and glue to either side of the lobster’s eyes for the cheeks. Craft Stick Lobster

STEP SEVEN: Cut two red chenille stems in half with scissors. Cut those halves in half again, so there are eight short pieces of chenille stem total. Craft Stick Lobster

STEP EIGHT: Attach four chenille stems to the right and left sides of the lobster’s body with a glue gun and glue sticks. Leave stems straight. Craft Stick Lobster

STEP NINE: To finish, draw a smile from cheek to cheek with a black marker. Craft Stick Lobster
