Mission: Galaxy Slime – The Instructions!
-
Fueling Your Rocket (Mixing the Borax Solution): In your trusty glass measuring cup, combine 1 cup of water with ½ teaspoon of borax powder. Mix it well and heat it up in the microwave for 30-45 seconds. Take care, an adult should always supervise when using a microwave! Once heated, stir the mixture until the borax is completely dissolved. This is your secret slime-activating weapon!
-
Building Your Galaxy (Creating the Slime Base): In your large bowl, pour in your entire bottle of clear glue. Next, add your food coloring – 3 drops of black and 3 drops of purple should do the trick, but feel free to adjust for a more dramatic or subtle space look. Stir everything together until the colors are beautifully blended, creating your celestial base.
-
Blast Off! (Activating the Slime): Now comes the fun part! Slowly add your borax solution, 1 teaspoon at a time, to the glue mixture. After each addition, stir the mixture well. Keep adding borax solution a teaspoon at a time until the slime starts to pull away from the sides of the bowl and becomes less sticky. This is the point of no return – the slime is forming! (This recipe took 15 teaspoons or 5 tablespoons of water/borax mixture)
-
Twinkling Stars (Adding the Glitter): It’s time to add some sparkle to your galaxy! Pour in your silver, dark pink, and blue glitter and gently fold it into the slime. Imagine you’re sprinkling stars across the night sky!
-
Mission Accomplished! (Storing Your Slime): Congratulations, Space Explorers! You’ve created a magnificent Galaxy Slime. Store your creation in an airtight container or ziplock bag to keep it fresh for future intergalactic adventures.
FAQs:
- Can I use different colors? Absolutely! Get creative and use any colors you like to personalize your galaxy slime.
- How long will this slime stay fresh? Store your slime in an airtight container and it can last for up to a week.
- What if my slime is too sticky? If your slime feels too sticky, add a little bit more of the borax solution, 1 teaspoon at a time, until it reaches the desired consistency.
