My Thoughts:
My crew think these kits are the neatest thing. The younger ones are learning about magnets and how they work while the older ones are jumping right in to construction mode.
Personally, I like that the kits are “uniform” in style and shape so they can be used for different projects. Because they are color coded, getting them separated doesn’t take long either.
It’s amazing what shapes and creations the kids (okay and Dad) come up with when playing with these sets.
The glow in the dark set are pretty cool too! We have glow in the dark robots that were tasked with guarding the hallway and a carnival ride that their little toys can ride on. I admit some of their creations do take a stretch of my imagination to visualize it, but they are having a blast and learning how things work at the same time.
GeoMag takes the science of magnetic construction and offers it at a child’s level. The little posts and shapes all come together as your child’s mind starts placing them on top or next to each other. It actually takes a good amount of concentration because the pieces really don’t snap together, they “touch” and so they can be bumped or “pulled” in a different direction pretty easily, which upsets your entire creation.
Aside from being super vigilant when the younger ones are using the kits, the sky is the limit as far as their being able to come up with awesome designs. If they can think it up, they can create it.
