My kids love to play games, especially if they can get other family members involved too. And playing games for the sake of fun can be a nice break from the daily routine, but I wouldn’t mind if the kids actually were learning while they were having fun. So we found two game titles for the whole family to enjoy together with character building fun through games.
Silly Street: Animal Act
Prepare for some MAJOR DRAMA! Animal Act is a super fun game that can be enjoyed by all ages, the more the merrier. Using a variety of performance styles (like acting, singing and miming), get the group to guess your card before the time runs out. Kids build bravery & confidence and flex their creativity muscles while playing Animal Act. Not to mention the stories and inside jokes you’ll be sharing for years. This one is insanely entertaining for grown-ups, too.

Silly Street the Game
Silly Street is the hilarious game that gets you up and moving and being SILLY as all get-out. Move down Silly Street by choosing a card and simply performing as the card suggests. Sounds simple, right? Not so! Some cards award YOU points, some cards make you COMPETE for the points, and some cards have you award points to another player! So stay on your toes and get ready to GET SILLY.
Silly Street builds these Character Skills: Confidence, Creativity, Empathy, Adaptability & Grit.
My Thoughts
As I mentioned before, our family loves to play games. I try to find more ways to get them us away from electronics as well as work in learning through play too. Trying to include the youngest members of our crew can be a challenge since they don’t read at the same pace as their siblings. But luckily, these two games don’t require reading skills and if the kids have any questions or need clarification, I like to think we act as impartial assistants to them.
The first game we played was Silly Street: Animal Act. The title had me concerned at first until I saw the box and understood it was in fact for children & families. This is an exciting game where you act out what is on the card you’ve drawn, while everyone else makes guesses, before the timer runs out. You definitely won’t be shy or scared for long since you want the other players to guess what or who you are! And it’s not just silent actions but it could be verbal clues, noises, etc.
I’d even suggest the idea could translate into some youth group or young adult/couples fun and games night too!
The other game made by the same company is called Silly Street the Game. This still gets you and the kids moving and acting, but you don’t always get the reward in the end! Sometimes they are given to another player or you have to decide who did the best job acting out the object/person to win the points! And the first player to the end of the board wins the game and becomes the leader of an awesome dance party according to the rules.
The starting ages are 4 and up for both of these games. I’d say you could have younger players as long they are sitting with an older child or parent. You can even play teams if you have a rather large gathering! Don’t miss out on this character building fun through games any longer.
