There are some things we take for granted in life until they stop working.. like my garage door remote opener! Oh man, I do not like having to get out of the car to open the garage door. I just want to push the button on the visor and watch the door slide open as I pull up the driveway.

So what happens when you reach to press the button.. and the remote isn’t on the visor? Yep, happened to me the other day! One of the team borrowed my garage opener and failed to replace it.
Now we have two (2) of the Chamberlain Universal Remotes. One of them is on my visor and the other one has been given to a family member that comes over to care for things while we are out of town.
I can say that I never thought about people that have two (2) garage doors. These would be perfect! Or for those that have an electric gate.. no more getting out in the rain to key in the gate code would be sweet!

Setting the remotes up to work with our garage doors was easy.
Here’s how easy it is to set up your remotes:
1. Locate the learn button on your door opener – usually inside the container with the light.
2. While holding the remote, remove the sliding door and press the programming button until the remote light comes on.
3. Press and release the learn button on the door opener unit. The light bulb may flash to indicate you have set the unit into the learning mode.
4. On the remote, press and release the button you want to sync with your garage opener. You may have to press and release this button up to ten (10) times as the remote “learns” the code from the garage opener. Just press and release the remote’s button and the light will blink and then go out. Continue to press and release the button on the remote UNTIL you see a response from the door opener. The garage door opener may beep, the light may go on and off or the garage door may go up or down depending on the position it is in when you started syncing the two units together. Once you see or hear a response from the door opener, the remote has been paired with the door opener.
5. On the remote, press the programming button again until the light goes out.
6. Test the remote by pressing the button you just coded. If you have a second garage door, repeat above steps.

These remote openers are available in Black, Pink, and Blue. They would make a great gift for those hard to buy for friends and family members. Some of the people that I think would benefit from one of these would be those that have children that may live at home that drive. I know we never had enough remotes for everyone to have one in their cars when all our children were still home.
