If you travel a lot, it can be a hassle to hit the laundromat or dry cleaners when you’re out of town. When I’m with my family, our clothes definitely edge toward the casual wear, and can easily be washed or even wait until we get home! But for business or something delicate, I get stuck having to use the hotel sink. If you’re like me, then you definitely want an alternative that doesn’t take up a lot of space, like the Allurette washer by Eartheasy.
About the Allurette Washer
The Allurette™ washer is the new sister product to the Scrubba wash bag. It features a more subtle washboard, and excels at gently and effectively washing virtually all delicates and hand-wash only activewear. Small loads can be gently and effectively washed in just minutes. It is perfect for fashion-lovers with lots of hand-wash only clothing, parents who need to wash baby clothes, active women, the environmentally-conscious, travellers and those with sensitive skin.
The Allurette washer is slightly smaller than the Scrubba wash bag and weighs just 112g (< 4 oz.). It is twice as effective as hand washing and a lot more hygienic that a dirty hotel sink.
How does the Allurette Washer Work?
For a machine quality delicates wash, use a few drops of a specialized handwash or delicate liquid detergent and gently rub the clothes for 2-3 minutes. For stubborn stains, the clothing may be gently rubbed for longer and/or the clothing may be allowed to soak in the Allurette washer prior to rubbing. If soaking clothing in the Allurette washer, ensure the Allurette washer is stored upright (e.g. seal facing upwards) to prevent water wicking through the seal.
My Thoughts
If I know there’s a chance I’m going to have to handwash or spot treat something delicate or expensive when I’m on the road, I like the idea of being able to wash it no matter where I’m at. With the Allurette washer, I can presoak a stain out from setting or even wash pieces of clothing I don’t want to wait utnil I get home to wash again.
Not only would this be a great gift for any traveler, but even for small loads in a dorm room, or even baby clothes that have to be washed separately from the family’s regular detergent. It folds down into a small piece for traveling in a suitcase or to keep in the laundry room or in the top of a closet.
How do you dry the items when you’re finished? Well, the Allurette washer manufacturer, Eartheasy’s website suggests not wringing out the clothes so you don’t stretch or damage the fabric. Gently squeeze the wet material inside a fresh clean towel repeatedly until it’s only damp. Then hang to air dry or use a drying wrack, depending on the care guide of your fabric.
Be sure to pick up the Allurette washer by Eartheasy for yourself or that busy person that travels because you never know when you’ll need to stay over or remove a stain from your favorite dress or tie.
