Do you have kids that struggle to stay in their own bed? Or maybe you know of a child who is scared of the dark? I happen to know a few of both, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Night Knights helped them sleep and feel safe in their own beds. And once it became a part of the bedtime routine, their sleep issues were reduced dramatically.
About Night Knights
The Night Knights™ have an important quest – to keep children feeling comforted and protected while they sleep. Say hello to Sir and Lady Sleep-A-Lot™, sent on a fun mission to keep watch in kids’ rooms at night. The illustrated storybook introduces The Night Knights™ to children and contains the special ‘knighting’ ceremony that kids absolutely love. The book adds more depth to the whole experience and jump-starts children’s imaginations. When they wake up in the morning and see a new scenario of how their personal guards were busy while they slept, they know that their Night Knights were keeping them safe.
For Kids
The Night Knights™ are more than just a fun toy. They are an experience that stimulates children’s imagination, helping them feel safe and secure at night. An adventure that the whole family can take part in, The Night Knights™ foster a love of reading and help children develop a sense of security when sleeping alone in the dark. Their personal Night Knights can help make going to bed a fun routine that they will look forward to.For Parents
The Night Knights™ are a magical experience that parents will enjoy along with their children. Quests and fun missions are guided by parents and their imagination. Kids are delighted when they wake up and see how their Night Knights were busy keeping guard while they slept. Peaceful bedtimes make happy parents and better sleep for everyone!
My Thoughts
I know we’ve talked before about the importance of having a bedtime routine. For my family, it was usually dinner, bath, quiet play time, a story, and then bedtime. I always told my little ones that I can’t make them sleep but I can make sure they stay in their beds. If they wanted to play quietly, that was fine; and usually they would fall asleep within a few minutes of the light being turned off.
Swapping in the Night Knights’ story and figures was a breeze. We usually pile into one of the kids’ beds and get Sir and Lady Sleep-A-Lot ready to listen to the story. Sometimes we deviate from the book and make up our own tales of adventures. We even add voices from time to time! For the kids, they get to enjoy the family time together with a parent (or caregiver if we’re out) and each other while I know they go to sleep imagining the two Night Knights keeping them safe and protected.
If you want to really amp up the experience, you can stage scenes for the kids to find when they wake up. Like once, the Night Knights “captured” all of the dinosaurs in a laundry basket. Another time, they were found playing tea party with the little one’s dolls. If you ever move the elf around at Christmas, it’s similar to that!
I love that we can share the story time together and then they can sleep with their own characters from the tale. The illustrations are beautiful and definitely give the kids’ imaginations fuel for the evening ahead. Be sure to check out the Night Knights website for all of the information.
