My Thoughts:
When I consider whether a toy is going to be a good fit for my family, it has to meet certain standards. Such as can multiple kids play at the same time? Is it easy to set up and/or take down? How well does it clean up and carry if we take it with us?
These two ice hockey play sets both contain multiple hockey figures to play with, so the children can play together OR one child can still enjoy having multiple players to enjoy moving around. While I admit the first time set up was a little frustrating, that only has to be done once because it involves snapping pieces together or applying stickers that only need to be done once. Otherwise, the set up or clean up part is a breeze since all the pieces fit within the cases themselves! And finally, they both travel well because they are meant to travel within the “background” set which doubles as a carrying case. So whether we are at home or taking them to go, the kids just sweep the pieces into the case, snap it shut and pick it up by the handle.
I also like that the Shootout Carry Case also is set up to have some action, such as hitting the puck with the stick by using a slide button on the figure’s stand. And the figures can move their arms, legs, and even turn their heads for more imagination and playtime.
Either or both of these Ice Hockey Play Sets would make a great gift for a boy or a girl, especially if they are hockey fans or just like playing with sets and figures that are so popular these days.
