Ingredients:

For the cookies – 

  • ½ c unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 t vanilla
  • ½ c dark cocoa powder
  • ½ t salt
  • ½ t baking soda
  • 1 ½ c flour

For the frosting & decoration – 

  • ½ c unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 c powdered sugar
  • 2 T dark cocoa powder
  • 1 t vanilla
  • ½ c chocolate chips
  • ÂĽ c heavy whipping cream
  • 5 Oreos, filling removed and crushed
  • Gummy worms, to decorate

Directions:

  1. For the cookies– Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Line a couple of baking sheets with parchment and set aside. 
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the softened butter and brown sugar.  Cream until smooth.  Crumbl dirt cake cookies
  3. Add in the vanilla and egg and mix until combined, scraping down the sides often. crumbl dirt cake cookies

  5. Use a large ice cream scoop to divide the cookies and place them on the prepared baking sheets, leaving several inches between each cookie.  crumbl dirt cake cookies
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the centers are set.  Allow to cool completely before decorating.  
  7. For the frosting – in the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and cocoa powder.  Mix on low until combined.  Bump up the speed to medium and whip until smooth.  Scrape down the sides.  crumbl dirt cake cookiescrumbl dirt cake cookies
  8. In another medium, microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream.  Heat for 30 seconds to a minute or until all the chips have melted and the mixture is smooth.  Allow to cool to room temperature.  crumbl dirt cake cookiescrumbl dirt cake cookies
