As most of the world does, I start my day with a piping hot cup of coffee. I started drinking coffee when I was about 17 years old, nearly 20 years ago. I wasn’t particularly picky about my coffee at that age, especially because I probably used more cream than I had coffee. But as the years went on, the flavor and quality became something I was more picky about. I’ve traveled to many place and always take a trip to the local coffee shops no matter where I am. This introduced me to the great tastes and flavors that many companies had to offer. One of my favorite things to do is support small businesses and ones that support a great cause.

Fire Department Coffee is a veteran-owned business and certified by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA), they’re dedicated to providing great-tasting coffee to people everywhere. Their coffee is freshly roasted in Rockford, IL by their dedicated team of firefighters, first responders, and coffee experts.
Inspired by the vital role that coffee plays in helping firefighters stay alert and energized through long shifts, Fire Dept. Coffee was founded in 2016. Founder and CEO Luke Schneider is a retired firefighter/paramedic and a U.S. Navy veteran who teamed up with firefighter/paramedic Jason Patton who is also a full-time firefighter and VP for Fire Department Coffee.
Fire Department Coffee is run by active and retired firefighters, including our operations officer and chief coffee roaster.
Along with providing a growing selection of incredible coffee — including its signature spirit-infused roasts — Fire Dept. Coffee also supports our fellow first responders in need through the Fire Dept. My Thoughts:
Fire Dept. Coffee has been brewed daily in our home since receiving them. Upon opening the bags, you can smell just how fresh the coffee is–the absolute best smell! My husband and I couldn’t wait to try all of the flavors, especially the Vanilla Bean Bourbon Infused blend–which did not disappoint! The flavor of the vanilla bean bourbon was so smooth and the aroma is superb. I always drink my coffee with cream, but I drank this one straight up. Our everyday go-to is usually a medium blend coffee. Fire Dept. Coffee Medium Roast blend is perfectly smooth and good till the last drop! Since some days require a bit more caffeine, the Shellback Espresso is the perfect shot to add to your regular cup of coffee or by itself for a quick pick-me-up. If you love coffee, you will LOVE Fire Dept. Coffee.
