Here’s Why You Should Be Using a Water Filter

March 1, 2018 by Pam Maynard

Water is life, literally! The importance of water in the body cannot be overlooked. It is said that if one was facing starvation or was stuck on a desert, your first cause of death would be dehydration and not hunger. Drinking water before meals is one of the most effective ways of weight loss and it has been proven that taking water first thing in the morning boosts one’s metabolism greatly. Not all water is fit for human consumption though and for this reason, it is important to purify water that is meant for drinking. Water purification removes toxins and harmful bacteria. It should be noted that even chlorine which is perceived to be safe for human consumption is really not good for our bodies and for this reason, water purification should be taken seriously. Read on to see the importance of using water filters to purify water.

Water filter

It Greatly Reduces the Risk of Disease

It can never really be said that there are chemicals that are safe for use in the long run and this applies to water disinfecting chemicals like Chlorine as well. Too much pile up of chemicals in the human system will obviously be harmful in the long run and as it stands, the scientific tests done on the long term effect of these substances in the human system still remain inconclusive. It is well known that Chlorine and Ammonia are cancer causing and yet they are the ones we use to purify our water. Therefore, it is best that one invests in water filters because at the end of the day, it is better to be safe than sorry.

It Reduces On Plastic Waste

The plastic bottles that hold bottled water will eventually turn into waste that cannot be recycled. This carbon goes ahead to choke the environment some more and thus the little commodity that is clean water will become even harder to find. This is not a problem in modernized countries as clean water is readily available; it only becomes a problem where clean water has to be sourced. Filtering your water yourself means that in as much as you will not get the convenience of readily bottled and packed water; you will considerably reduce on excessive waste.

Skin Needs Protection Too

All the harmful toxins in water that we’re afraid of ingesting should be harmful to our skins too. This ostensibly means that even our skins need to be protected. A shower filter ensures that the water we use for our daily hygiene is free from toxins and therefore keeping diseases at bay. We must always remember that hot showers open up our pores and increase exposure to toxins. Again, the longer we are exposed to contaminated water means the longer we are exposed to harm. We should purpose to shorten our exposure to water at all times be it showering or general hygiene.

Why You Should Be Using a Water Filter

It Saves Money

Buying filtered water for a whole family of no less than 4 people to maintain adequate hydration cannot be a mean fete. The pockets will feel the pinch and add on to the normal day to day family expenses and you have a really big budget to foot. Filtering your own water can greatly reduce this by reducing on cost of buying water all the time. The long term effect of filtering your own water can be found in the family having fewer diseases and thereby saving on medical fees.

It’s a Natural Detox

With so many people looking to detox from the harmful toxins we ingest over time, taking in less toxins is obviously the way to go to avoid all that. Water in its natural (and clean) form is the best gift we can give to our bodies and therefore, once we learn that taking in filtered water guarantees that we won’t have many toxins to detoxify from, everyone would invest in a filter for their own good.

To conclude, once we learn of the benefits of clean filtered water, buying already filtered and bottled water will cease being a priority as we have made it seem. Most of the water sources remain to be questionable and for this reason it is best if we filtered our own water.
