Rip Tie Hair was founded in 2021 by Sarah Fox, a passionate surfer and SCUBA diver. A longtime lover of the ocean, Sarah has lived in Hawaii, where she discovered surfing, and Guam, where she worked at one of the largest dive shops in the US. Now she lives in Ocean Beach, San Diego with her dog, husband, and newborn baby.
During the pandemic she was fortunate enough to be able to surf every day, but hated how long she spent brushing her hair out in the shower. She came up with the idea for the RipTie Hair tangle-free tie and spent 2020 experimenting with elastics until she discovered the design that was the best way to style hair while surfing.
