Ingredients:
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 12 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
- ¾ cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1.5 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 6 chopped double-stuffed Oreo cookies
Directions for Delicious Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies:
**Step 1: Preheat the Oven**
Let’s kick things off by preheating your oven to 350 degrees F. Be sure to chop up your Oreos ahead of time.
**Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients**
In a medium bowl, combine 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Mix them together well with a whisk—this helps to evenly distribute the baking soda and salt. Once done, set this bowl aside for now.
**Step 3: Cream the Butter**
Now, grab your stand mixer (or a large mixing bowl if you’re using a hand mixer) and add 1 cup of softened butter. Beat the butter on medium speed until it’s light and fluffy—this will take about 2-3 minutes. The fluffier the butter, the better your cookies will turn out!
**Step 4: Sweeten It Up**
Next, add ¾ cup of granulated sugar and ¾ cup of packed dark brown sugar to the butter. Continue beating the mixture until it’s well combined and creamy.
**Step 5: Add the Egg and Vanilla**
Now it’s time to add some flavor! Mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1 large egg. Beat this mixture on medium speed until smooth and well mixed.
**Step 6: Add the Dry Ingredients**
Slowly incorporate the flour mixture you set aside earlier. It’s best to add it in batches to avoid a flour explosion! Don’t forget to stop occasionally to scrape down the sides and the bottom of the bowl.
**Step 7: Chocolate Chips and Oreos**
Once the flour is incorporated, gently fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips.
**Step 8: Bake the Cookies**
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dollops of the cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
**Step 9: Enjoy!**
Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely (if you can wait that long!).
Now, grab a glass of milk and enjoy these delightful Oreo chocolate chip cookies. They’re perfect for sharing, but no judgment if you keep them all to yourself! Happy baking!
