- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup coconut oil (or any neutral flavored oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
**Step1: Prepare the Oven and Pan** Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
**Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients** In a large bowl, combine 1½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of rolled oats*, one teaspoon of baking soda, ½ teaspoon of salt, and one teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix well to ensure even distribution.
**Step 3: Prepare Wet Ingredients** In another bowl, whisk together 1 cup of unsweetened applesauce, ¾ cup of sugar, one large egg, ¼ cup of oil, one teaspoon of vanilla extract, and ½ cup of milk until smooth.
**Step 4: Combine Mixtures** Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
**Step 5: Bake** Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
