The beauty of this craft lies in its simplicity. Kids can unleash their imaginations as they transform ordinary paper plates into fantastical flying saucers. Let them decorate their UFOs with vibrant markers, colorful paints, or even glitter for an extra touch of sparkle.
But this craft isn’t just about fun – it’s also a fantastic way to help young children develop essential skills. Tracing the rim of the paper plate with a marker or crayon is a great introduction to tracing shapes, a fundamental skill for learning to write letters and numbers. Additionally, carefully cutting out shapes from construction paper to add details like windows or antennas helps kids practice their scissor control and hand-eye coordination.
