64 Piece Pastel Starter Pack

Because my grand is not yet two, I wanted to get a basic starter set for her to play with.  She plays with them at daycare so she knows exactly what they are.  She went straight to the box and began stacking them.  That’s what she loves to do.  She makes a stack and if it’s not right, she knocks it down and starts over.  

The Connetix Tile Pastel Starter Pack comes with 64 pieces.  There are different shapes and different colors.  Each pack has 8 large squares, 32 small squares, 8 equilateral triangles, 8 right-angle triangles, and 8 isosceles triangles.  Each of them comes with Connetix signature bevel design and strong magnets.  The tiles are non-toxic and BPA-free.

There are 8 different colors: rose, berry, peach, mint, emerald, lemon, violet, and sapphire.  Not only does my granddaughter enjoy stacking them, but she likes to look through them and see the world with a fun shade.  She and her mama were having the best time with them.

More About Connetix Tiles

I’ve been researching the benefits of playing with magnet tiles.  When I was young, I found magnets interesting, and of course, we had the standard refrigerator alphabet.  But we didn’t have many toys with magnets. 

Today, our children and grandchildren can play with toys like Connetix Tiles and get so many benefits from them.  I found that magnet tiles help with concentration and focus, critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, pattern skills, and much more. 

There are also STEM benefits.  I had to look this one up because I knew that it had something to do with learning, I just didn’t understand.  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.   Each of the tiles is a shape – a square, rectangle, or a multitude of triangles.  All of this makes me think of geometry, but kids can learn so much by doing.  This shape will fall over unless I add or take away this piece.  These problem-solving skills are essential for any child to learn as they grow up.  Learning these skills while playing, that is even better.

My Thoughts

Connetix Tiles are great toys for little fingers, they encourage children to build 2 and 3-D projects, and they have safe and durable magnets.  My daughter-in-law works in a daycare and she loves them.  She said that we could add other sets to this one, and eventually, we will be building trains and cars, tunnels, and even a ball run when our little one gets bigger.  My granddaughter, although she is young, can still play with the brightly colored shapes and we can teach her colors, counting, and shapes.  I can’t wait to see what her imagination will design.
