Saffron, a spice prized for its golden hue and delicate aroma, is considered the ultimate garnish in Indian cuisine. Likewise, the marigold flower is a revered offering in India. As Saffron Marigold, we hope our collections add that special touch and become valued treasures in your home.  

We create our exclusive designs in Petaluma, California and bring them to life at our studios in Rajasthan, India. Unique and affordable, our textiles have generations of skill and  tradition embedded within their fibers.   Using chiseled wood blocks, our artisans transform fabric into works of art that celebrate color and pattern.

What Kinds of Linens?

Saffron Marigold designs and manufactures lots of different kinds of linens.  You can find curtains, bed linens, table linens, and more on their website.  Designs are inspired by different countries and places, such as Morocco, India, the Mediterranean, France, Asia, and Turkic Countries.  I love a country farm design or something classically American.  And I found just that for my kitchen table.

What is Block Printing?

Block printing is a technique that uses a carved material such as wood, linoleum, or rubber to transfer ink onto fabric or paper.  The block serves as a stamp with the final product resulting in a mirror image of the carving.

Each design at SM is made using handcrafted wooden blocks, like a rubber stamp.  There are subtle variations in color depending on the dye and weather conditions.  This just makes each piece you buy a one-of-a-kind piece.

Table Linens

I was sent a beautiful round tablecloth from Saffron Marigold in English Gardens print.  To say it brightened up my kitchen is an understatement.  The bright white and blue design goes perfectly with my home.

I love the blue and white floral pattern.  It reminds me of dishes my grandmother used to have, bringing a little nostalgia into our home.  Because Saffron Marigold uses high-quality materials, I know that this tablecloth will be around for generations.  

English Garden Collection

Inspired by William Morris’ iconic textile prints, the English Garden Collection is absolutely beautiful.  With the lovely floral bouquets, it’s a bright and cheerful addition to any room.  There are a multitude of products that come with this pattern including bedding, curtains, and table linens.

My Thoughts on Saffron Marigold
