Engage Your Child’s Curiosity with What On Earth Books #MegaChristmas23

November 29, 2023 by Missy Tanner

Disclosure Statement for Mom Does Reviews

Giving a child a book is one of my favorite things.  Kids are like sponges and will soak in all kinds of information, it doesn’t matter what it is.  As a person, I’ve always loved books, so it makes sense that I want to give everyone I know the opportunity to learn more from reading.  What on Earth Books wants to engage children in learning through their books.  From what I know, they are doing a fantastic job of doing just that.

What on Earth Books

What on Earth Books

What on Earth Publishing (UK-based, founded in 2010) publishes children’s non-fiction books that engage their natural curiosity and passion for learning. We offer our readers diverse perspectives on the world and help them connect the dots to build a lifetime love of learning.

What on Earth Books

It all comes down to this:
The real world is far more amazing than anything you can make up!

What on Earth Books

It’s Up to US

Have you ever wondered what would happen to the world if humans didn’t exist?  Christopher Lloyd and King Charles III wanted to dive into how animals and nature would co-exist successfully without humans.

Its Up to Us

It’s Up to Us is based on the Terra Carta, a roadmap to sustainability issued by His Majesty King Charles III and his Sustainable Markets Initiative. The story explains in lyrical text how Nature operates in a world without humans. It then shows the damaging impact People have had on the Planet. It finishes by proposing a series of new pledges that we can all make – a Terra Carta – to help solve the problems.

Animal Factopia!

The world is made up of so many things, that it’s impossible to know everything.  However, in Animal Factopia, many facts are explained and easily understood.  This book contains 400 facts about all kinds of animals.

Animal Factopia

This book will make you ROAR with laughter! Discover facts about escaping penguins, farting zebras, leaping dolphins, snorting elephants, dancing bears, and more—all connected in weird and wonderful ways.

What on Earth

Did you know that beavers have orange teeth? Or that some monkeys floss their teeth using bird feathers? Or that one species of bird can walk underwater? Or that alligators stay underwater for longer by swallowing rocks? Or that sea otters use rocks to crack open prey? Welcome to Animal FACTopia, a purrfectly amazing world of facts, all of which are verified by Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Absolutely Everything! A History of Earth, Dinosaurs, Rulers, Robots, and Other Things

Here is another great facts book. Absolutely Everything! talks about a plethora of subjects, explaining them in clear words so that children can understand them.

Absolutely Everything

Embark on a journey across millennia and around the world, from the latest understanding of the origins of the universe through the birth of the Earth, the very first life, the age of dinosaurs, the rise of humans, ancient civilizations, colonialism, wars, technology, everyday life, global struggles for freedom and equality, pandemics – and much more.

Britannica First Big Book of Why

Littles love to ask questions and Britannica First Big Book of Why will answer many questions such as, Why do tortoises walk so slowly?  This book answers over 100 questions about animals, the human body, and life.

First Big Book of Why

Spanning a range of topics including animals, the body, machines, space, and more, this book provides clear and accessible explanations–and even explores some of the mysteries that experts are still trying to solve!

By encouraging children to question how the world works, Britannica First Big Book of Why supports STEAM learning and nurtures enquiring minds.

Where in the World Are You?

My friend’s little girl is obsessed with the book, Where in the World Are You.  It’s the book she likes to read and have read to her.

Where in the World

Join the mischievous pet cat on a journey of discovery that encourages young readers to think about their place in the world.

Inspired by the feeling of being trapped inside and imagining the world beyond during the worldwide lockdowns, this enjoyable picture book reminds us that even when we are apart, we are all connected. The world keeps turning, a cat keeps purring, and children will find their happy place in the world.

Earth is Big

Do you want to know how big a plane is compared to a mountain range?  In the book, Earth is Big, your child can compare what tiny things are next to giant things.

Earth is BIG

Get to know our planet in a whole new way by comparing it to a huge variety of other incredible things – from tiny particles to giant star clusters. Did you know soap bubbles are some of the roundest objects in the universe? Or that we humans are totally outnumbered by chickens? Or that the driest desert on Earth isn’t scorching but freezing? Tour some of the most extreme places on the planet and beyond it, take a look at life forms from bacteria to elephants to redwood trees, and explore what makes our planet the perfect home for us.

My Thoughts

What on Earth

I’m always happy to share books, especially when a child can learn from it.  What On Earth Books publishes amazing books so that children can get their questions answered, learn a multitude of facts, and have fun while learning.  My friend’s little girl is seven and she loves to read books and look at the beautiful illustrations that are in all of them.  Books always make great gifts for any occasion.
