4 Lunchtime Food Options for Families on the Go

November 18, 2018 by Pam Maynard

Feeding an entire family can often feel like quite a tall order. It can be especially tough for people who are pressed for time. Most modern families are, too. If you’re constantly on the move, though, feeding your family lunch each day doesn’t have to be an afterthought. There are all sorts of great food choices out there for families that have fast-paced lifestyles.

4 Lunchtime Food Options for Families on the Go

Instant Oatmeal

Oatmeal is nutritious and filling. It’s also incredibly easy and fast to prepare. If you want to feed your family a well-rounded and wholesome diet, there aren’t many food options that can beat oatmeal. Preparing instant oatmeal requires mere minutes. You can top oatmeal off with blueberries, strawberries, nuts and beyond, too.

Salads

Salads are often chock-full of all kinds of beneficial ingredients. Preparing them is a piece of cake as well, no pun intended. If you want to keep your family members full, it can help to prepare them nutritious Caesar salads complete with pieces of grilled chicken. You can add other healthy elements as well. Think about chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, sliced carrots and the like.

Sandwiches

Sandwiches can come in handy for busy families that need to eat well. If you lack the time to throw together sandwiches on your own, you don’t have to fret, either. Visit a sandwich shop in your area to purchase meals for everyone. Try to request nutritious and balanced sandwiches that include leafy greens and other desirable ingredients. Steer clear of sandwiches that include questionable and potentially unhealthy components.

Dry Cereal

Oatmeal can be amazing for hungry families that are strapped for time. Dry cereal can be just as effective. If you want to fill all of your family members’ empty bellies, going for healthy dry cereals can be optimal. Look for cereal options that are devoid of excessive amounts of sugar. Look for cereal choices that are rich in fiber and other beneficial ingredients as well. The cereal aisle at the grocery store is often your friend.

Feeding a family doesn’t have to be something you dread each day. If you’re creative, you can actually make putting lunch together fun. Don’t go into panic mode if you’re unable to prepare anything, either. Your local sandwich shop can come through for you. People young and old tend to adore chowing down on sandwiches. There are savory sandwiches to consider. There are even various sweet ones to try out. Don’t forget about peanut butter and banana choices.
