Make Special Treats for your Special Pups!
We all love our kids- and love to make them special treats. That goes for our furry kids too! We always post recipes for our kids on Mom Does Reviews, we can’t forget our furry kids. Check out these easy Banana and Squash Dog Treats. We made them in Halloween shapes, but you can use the recipe and make them any shape you want!
The best part of this recipe is that it uses all ingredients that you already have at home. You could eat them too, it’s all human food, but great for your dog too!

Ingredients:
- 2 squashes
- 2 bananas
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 2 ½ cups whole wheat flour
- ½ cup cornmeal
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp of raw honey
- 2 tsp of water
- 1 drop of food coloring (optional)
Directions:
Chop the squash, using the food processor to ensure they are finely chopped.
Add squash and banana together in large bowl.
Next add the oil, cornmeal, egg and flour.
Mix thoroughly together.
Next, use a little flour on a flat surface to roll the mixture out.
Use the cookie cutters to cut cookies to desired shapes.
Place on a non-stick pan and bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.
Allow treat to cool.
While its cooling make the icing. In a small bowl, add cornstarch, honey, water and food coloring together. You will have to stir slowly, otherwise it is hard to stir!
Next, use a spoon to cover treats with desired color.
Allow 15-20 minutes for icing to dry.
Serve to furry friend and watch them enjoy!
