The focal points in the subtle body, also known as chakras, have a great impact on people’s life, their health, and formation of the personality. If chakras don’t work, that always affects person’s mental or physical health. Each individual chakra center is responsible for human livelihood and his/her character traits. - Muladhara. It is located in tailbone area, is in red color, responsible for such traits as power, confidence and is good for bowels and circulation of blood. If the first chakra is overactive, the person becomes aggressive and more fearful.
- Svadhisthana. It’s about two or three inches below the navel and is in orange color. It’s responsible for lust for life, satisfaction. Given chakra has a good impact on biliary tracts, liver, pancreas gland. If Svadhisthana is overactive, a person becomes jealous and greedy.
- Manipura. This energy centre is located in coeliac plexus area and is in yellow color. This chakra is responsible for strength, self-esteem and self-worth, as well as is good for abdominal cavity organs. Aggressiveness, mistrust, fuss – these are the basic feelings a person experiences if Manipura is overstimulated.
- Anahata. It’s located just above heart and is in green color. It’s responsible for love, compassion, mercy. Given chakra has a good impact on heart, lungs and stomach. If Anahata is too opened, a person can be easily offended and becomes sentimental.
- Vishuddha. Located in the throat, is in blue color. Vishuddha is responsible for creative and communication skills. It has a good impact on lungs and eyes, as well as promotes development of self-admiration and possessiveness in case it’s stimulated too much.
- Ajna. Given energy centre is located in the forehead area between the eyes. Ajna is in color indigo and is responsible for foresight, intuition. If the chakra is disbalanced, the person constantly makes wrong decisions.
- Sahasrara. Located at the very top of the head, is in purple color and responsible for harmony, inner and outer beauty. If Sahasrara is closed, a person experiences lack of connection to the world around, and is unambitious.
Each of the chakras has corresponding asanas and mantras, which help heal them and let people reach the desired result concerning health or certain achievements.
