My Very Own Ice Cream Cart
This colorful, rolling vending cart allows you to scoop your favorite ice cream and make cones and sundaes! It features a pretend freezer compartment, credit card scanner, credit card and coins. Four cones, two bowls, four spoons, six scoops of ice cream, and two ice cream scooping utensils are also included!
Deluxe Workbench
This large and sturdy work bench is perfect for the little builder. It stands 33″ tall and includes two storage drawers. The accessories include a battery operated reversible drill with two drill bits, a hammer, wrench and screwdriver, four nails, six bolts, six nuts, five interlocking gears, five connector brackets, a cell phone and a ruler. The workbench has a peg board and three hooks for hanging tools.
My Thoughts:
As a mom to both grown and still at home little ones, I have seen the pendulum swing from one extreme to the other on the how and why our children should “do playtime”. I believe in both free and organized playtime, especially during the formative years.
Toys like the Ice Cream Cart spark the imagination and bring out creativity in our little ones. We play (while learning) how to take an order and making eye contact while placing our orders for ice cream treats. Our little ones learn how to talk to people and interact with others.
We have enjoyed both play ice cream and the real thing. This cart is all plastic and can be rinsed off when the real ice cream treats are over – but oh the fun we have had.
Ms Allie comes and takes our order after she tells us what “flavors” she has in her cart. This is where the imagination of a two year old comes out. We have had several creative play ice cream treats that she created for us.
When we assembled the workbench, I mistakenly thought that Mr Colton would be the one that wanted to play with it all the time. While he does enjoy playing with it, he is so tender with his sister and shows her how the tools work. If he doesn’t know, he comes and asks one of us. Then he goes back and shows her how to do it.
The parts all screw, clamp, or bolt to the pegboard type table top. There is also a compartment for storage of loose pieces which is nice to keep everything together when not in use.
This is what playtime should be all about. Having fun and using your imagination. American Plastic Toys “gets it”. Their toys are sturdy and made to be used by little ones. Holding up to toddler love means a lot to me as a consumer.
