Our backgrounds are as diverse as the colour of our skin, and our lives are full of children that we love and that we want to see growing up in an open and inclusive world. We created Family Stories to give children everywhere a place where they can find great stories. Great stories that are just waiting to be transformed into unique personalized books featuring their family, no matter its size, shape or funny quirks!
We believe in equality without exception, and giving every parent the opportunity to read a book to their child that does not raise questions about their family structure, but rather embraces it. Family Stories was built by parents for parents, and we hope you and the children in your lives will enjoy the experience of creating your own personalized story as much as we did working to make it possible.
My Thoughts
The kids started squealing with surprise when they opened the shipping box and found two books, one for each of them. Since I was able to do some customization, they had similar hair styles, eye color, etc. to the character on the page that had the same name!
The older boy understood that we ordered this as a present, but the younger one was surprised at the magic of it all! The books from Family Stories allow you to customize a story about your child and up to 2 adults (who have minor roles) as he or she travels the world to learn about new friends in places all around the world!
I like being able to expose our children to other cultures, skin colors, locations, etc without getting too in depth as a young age. Each page is full of colorful illustrations and places around the world for us to learn about. One of the kids took this information to heart and wanted to learn more online after we were done with the book.
A personalized story about exploring the world definitely makes a fun and unique gift. They have seasonal and regular books to choose from depending on which you’d prefer. What a wonderful and thoughtful way to learn about the world and community around us with Family Stories.
