Build Your Own Piper Raspberry Pi Computer
If your children are like mine, they want technology. One of my sons wants a laptop, while the other wants an I phone. My daughter has a Kindle tablet, but would like a TV in her room. With all that is out there I usually stay away from technology because I prefer my kids to engage in life and to use their minds. Therefore my answer to a laptop, TV, and I Phone is a resounding No. Then I saw this Piper Raspberry Pi Computer Kit, and thought it was a perfect compromise. My son could use his mind and build his very own laptop, which makes us both happy.

Building Piper
This kit was fully inclusive and even came with a screwdriver. My son took all the parts out and set out this big blueprint. Then he built the wooden box. He didn’t even ask for any help along the way. Next he attached the cords in the back of the screen, and screwed the screen in place. Then he attached the battery and followed the step by step directions on the screen. The directions were in a cute game format with PiperBot and his friend Pip. He was even able to download his own screensaver.
Mom’s Thoughts
The battery is rechargeable, as is the speaker. It also has a cute red mouse, and a mouse house. There is a clear box in the wooden box that houses the mouse when it is not in use. I think that is really cute. I also love the bright green color used. This computer kit is user friendly and fun for children to build. They can even learn to program games with their Piper Computer. Once the unit is built they can still play with PiperBot and Pip in a building game like Minecraft. Then they can play the real Minecraft with the Raspberry Pi edition. There are other games to play as well like Python games.
Most noteworthy I think is the pretty designs in the wood on the front near the screen. There is a pretty earth with different colored wood on the right side, and PiperBot and Pip on the left. I think the design and look of the Piper Computer is great for children. It certainly will appeal to a diverse age group. Plus the whole thing folds up and gets closed in the wooden box. Now it is portable and safe in its box. Plus the outside of the box says Piper in bright colors.
This light weight Raspberry Pi Computer Kit will engage your children for hours of learning fun. Therefore if your kids want technology this Christmas, get them a Piper Kit. Now you can have them learn about programming and coding all wrapped up in the fun of their own computer.
