Bottle Penguins
Penguins are flightless birds and cute sea mammals. Using basic art supplies, you and your kids may recreate penguins with DIY recycled bottles that you can place beside their bedside table along with their toys collection.
Materials you need:
- Empty water bottle
- Card papers (black and yellow)
- Cotton balls
- Felt
- Hot glue gun
- Googly eyes
- Black paint
- Scissors
- String
Instructions:
- Fill up the empty bottle with cotton balls.
- Paint half of the bottle black (vertically).
- To create a penguin’s face, colour the bottle cap black. Stick a pair of googly eyes and a cut-out nose made of felt after.
- To make a beanie, measure felt around the cap and cut it according to its width and slightly higher than its height. Stick the cut-out felt onto the cap and use a string to tie the extra top bit.
- Cut out a pair of surfboard-like shapes off black card paper and stick them to the sides.
- Cut out a pair of happy feet and glue them to the bottom of the bottle.
- If it’s winter time, cut a rectangle off the felt to make a scarf and wrap it around the bottle neck.
