My Thoughts:
My favorite part of The BFG movie is the dream scenes! They are so beautifully displayed and play a vital part in the movie. The BFG collects dreams and shares them with the children in London to give them happy dreams. That is where Sophie sees him. Of course, at first she is terrified of him and think he is a giant that eats children. When she learns that he is The Big Friendly Giant, she wants to find out more about what he does when he leaves his cave at night. Here is one of the amazing dream scenes that I love. He teaches Sophie how to catch the Phizwizards.
Disney’s THE BFG is the imaginative story of a young girl named Sophie (Ruby Barnhill) and the Big Friendly Giant (Oscar (R) winner Mark Rylance) who introduces her to the wonders and perils of Giant Country. Directed by Steven Spielberg based on Roald Dahl’s beloved classic, the film opens in theaters nationwide on July 1.
I love how The BFG Game takes the most magical part of the movie and makes it a game. Players have to swap jars to match 3 or more of the same color. My 13 year-old said it was like bejeweled but better! I wanted his opinion on the game and he spend a good half hour playing it before he tell me how much he liked it. He hasn’t seen the movie yet, but once I explained it to him, he liked it even more!
Another great feature is the option to share your scores on Facebook! My son downloaded the game on his phone so he could brag about his score that was higher than mine. Plus, your friends will know they NEED the game too!
