Self Esteem is a big issue, especially with children, preteen and teenage girls. They seem to find every fault in themselves, even when there are no faults to find. The Girl Power Campaign has come up with inspirational clothing, bracelets and more to make girls feel good about themselves.
“The Girl Power Campaign has created a fun and powerful way for parents to help girls develop a healthy self-image and a successful mindset. Based on latest cognitive behavioral and growth mindset research we have created five simple steps that will change how girls see themselves, others, and their future.”
I was sent a hoodie, t-shirt, yoga pants, and bracelets to try out and see what I thought. I have to say, I love the high quality of the clothing. My teenager says that they are soft and the color is beautiful.
I really liked that they have Girl Power, or GP on them. This reminds my daughter that she is worth something. That her opinion really matters. SHE is the reason my world is complete.
This campaign allows parents and children come together at a critical time in a girl’s life. These important years, with the hormones developing, girls of all ages need to be reassured that they are okay and that everything will work out, even if they don’t feel like it will.
Girl Power has five saying (or steps) that they want to use in order to make these young women understand that they are special and important.
1. The Power to Follow My Dreams
2. The Power to Always Shine Bright
3. The Power to Change the World
4. The Power to Make a Difference
5. The Power to Be Myself
These are all immeasurable in someone’s life. But to build that critical self esteem during such an important time for young girls — that’s amazing. Girl Power’s clothing line remind’s these girls every minute they are wearing them, that they are emPowered!
My daughter LOVES the outfit. She does a lot of working out, but that is not the only time she wears it. The hoodie has been worn a lot. Her friends at school want to know where they can get one like it!
My feelings about this campaign? You can never give a girl too much attention. At this age, they scream for it. I want my daughter to be the best person she can be. She understands that she will have days that are worse than others. That is when she should put on this outfit to remind herself, SHE can change the world, not just live in it.
