It has been six years since my daughter was born, and I am in awe of how quickly things have changed within the products that are available, and the knowledge that I have gained since becoming a mommy. If only our little ones were accompanied by a manual, everyone were offered the same parenting advice, or we were born with all the knowledge needed to raise a baby – how amazing would that be?
For the time being, I will hold onto what I have learned, so I will be ready should we be blessed enough to have a second child. In the meantime, I will settle for sharing my vast wealth of knowledge, after having one child (hehe), with my little sister. She will hear about all of my experiences, what I have read, and all the malarkey people told me before my nephew is born in February.
I’ve told her how important it is to stock up on bibs, burp cloths, and onesies. Babies are really messy; especially in the beginning. Well, in the middle too. Hmmm, come to think of it, my daughter is almost six and she is still messy.
Now, I may not be able to get my little sister to buy into all of this but I can provide her with a few things to help her along the way and that is exactly what I plan on doing thanks to our friends at The Cocoon Company.
First up … Bibs!
Bibs from The Cocoon Company are made from 100% Peruvian Prima Cotton and are incredibly soft, antimicrobial, and reversible. These aren’t the waterproof bibs that I remember growing up. Do you remember the bibs that had a plastic backing, were super tiny, and got all gunky? Oh how things have changed, my friends! Made with a patented technology, The Cocoon Company bibs will not only keep your baby’s clothes dry and protected, they repel liquids which makes cleanup a breeze!

Next … Safety in the Car!
Did you know that it isn’t safe for your little one to wear a heavy jacket while in their seat? I had no idea, until just recently. Now, I don’t know where you live but it gets really cold in Ohio and when you have an 8 lb baby, you want to keep him/her warm. So if heavy jackets are a no-no then what is a parent to do?
The Cocoon Company can help with their car seat swaddle! This is perfect for your baby’s car seat or other five or three point restraining system (i.e. bouncy seat, swing, and/or stroller). The swaddle is made from Organic Peruvian Pima Cotton which is extremely soft, gentle, and soothing against your baby’s skin. The fabric allows your little one to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer, while providing the benefits of a swaddle in an on-the-go fashion.
The Cocoon Company swaddle has a quilted back with slits to pull through the harness. There is a deep pocket at the bottom of the swaddle that holds the blanket used in the first step of the swaddling process; this pocket also keeps your babies feet secure. There are wings on both sides of the swaddle that allows your little one to be swaddled snugly. The optimal weight for The Cocoon Company Car Seat Swaddle is 8 lbs to 20 lbs.
