My Review:
We own Camp Wags Pet Resort and this Pet Ramp is a NECESSITY for our clients. We watch dogs in our home- dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. Some are elderly, some are puppies, some are just too small to “jump” into a vehicle. This Solvit XL Telescopic Pet ramp is perfect for ALL our clients as well as our own dogs. My husband usually takes the dogs to the vet or swimming in the Hummer or the big Dodge Ram truck. Both are too high for some dogs to jump into. Actually, they are too high for ME to jump into, LOL.
Right now, both of the dogs we own are young enough that they can jump into the truck or Hummer, but give them a few more years, they will be needing assistance. The pet ramp even has a non-slip coating so “Scaredy Dogs” like our German Shepherd can walk up and down the ramp without doing her “ice skating” trick.
There is a little learning curve to using the ramp. We had to get our pups on leashes and show them how to use the ramp. Our Border Collie just needed us to show him once. He was flying up and down it after that. Our German Shepherd is a little more resistant to change. She finally got the hang of it after we helped her about 8 times. We tried to get Hedda, the Bermese Mountain Dog to go up the ramp, but she was too scared.
The Pet Ramp is so versatile, you can adjust it to whatever length you need it. For the Hummer, we had it almost all the way extended. If we were going to use it for my VW Tiguan, we wouldn’t need to extend it anywhere near that far.
Another use for the ramp would be to get elderly dogs in and out of the front door. We have 5 concrete steps that are hard for some dogs to conquer. The ramp would be perfect for the front door!
Overall, we LOVE the XL Telescopic Pet Ramp from Solvit! I highly recommend one if you have pets that need assistance getting in and out of vehicles. They even make ramps for small dogs to get up on the bed or the couch.
