Meet the Zoonicorns!

Zoonicorns are magical creatures that inhabit the dreams of the animals at the City Zoo. Part zebra, part unicorn, the Zoonicorns take their animal friends on amazing adventures and learn about life and friendship in the process. Zoonicorn offers books that are entertaining for children and adults alike, as well as plush toys of the characters.

“Dreams are one place that parents can’t go to help their children,” said creator Mark Lubratt. “The zoonicorns exist to take anxious young zoo animals on fantastic and encouraging adventures in their dreams in ways that teach them an important lesson that helps them.”

Soft and cuddly Zoonicorns match every type of child. The Zoonicorn family includes Valeo, the leader of the herd in blue, purple Promithea, who is fun and friendly, pink Aliel is fast and frenzied, and Ene, is green, playful and mischievous.

The Zoonicorn herd looks up to me because I’m their leader. I like to hang out with my friends especially the giraffes in the Africa exhibit.

Hi! I’m Promithea. (purple)

I’m the Zoonicorn you can rely on when you need a friend.  Sometimes I’m quiet and might seem a little shy.

Make way!  I’m coming through! The name is Aliel (A-lee-el). (notice that she is in the FRONT of the picture) (pink)

When you first meet me, you’ll think my mouth gets ahead of my brain!  I’m the speedy Zoonicorn.  Zoom, Zoom!  And I love to play!  You might have a hard time keeping up with me.  Every animal in the zoo is my friend!  Do you want to be my friend, too?  Let’s play soon!

Zzzz…. Oh, Hello! I just woke up from a long nap under that tall tree. Let me introduce myself.  I’m Ene! (green)

I’m the Zoonicorn who likes to nap.  But don’t let my napping fool you!  Once I wake up, I go right back to my old tricks.

My review:

OK, I really could not resist all this cuteness that came in one box.  My son and his Destination Imagination Team called themselves the Krazy Katicorns- so these ZOONICORNS were begging to be part of our family.  Their cuteness wins over even the grumpiest of children (and adults.) I love how they each have their own personality and names.  It makes the magic that much more real.

The story- Buffy Meets the Zoonicorns, is one you don’t want to miss.  It helps children understand the magic of friendship and learn a few life lessons along the way.  But, Shhhh, don’t tell them that they might learn something.  Let them figure it out on their own.

The Zoonicorns are irresistible to children and adults alike.  After all, who doesn’t want to live in a magic land with these cute creature!  At first my favorite was Promithea, because she was so calm, friendly and peaceful, and purple.  But then I realized I am really more like Aliel- all over the place and half-frenzied- hair sticking out everywhere.

Don’t let their cuteness fool you!  Even my son and his tween friends LOVE the Zoonicorns.  I will eventually give them to a child who NEEDS them, but for now, my son and I are having fun with them.
