1-800-FLOWERS.COM recently conducted a survey to find out how today’s women view their mothers. The results provide a look into how women tend to define their relationship with their mothers, how they would feel if someone compared them to their mother, and what advice from their moms they are most likely to take – if any.
Some interested findings include:
- 79% of U.S. women would feel positively if someone told them they were just like their mother
- When it comes to relationships with their mothers, age make a difference with how people respond. Millennials say they are best friends, they talk about everything (36.9%); however gen x and boomers say it’s complicated – let’s just leave it at that (31.2 % and 31.0% respectively)
- 3 out of 4 women seek their mother’s advice with 18-24 year olds seeking relationship and health advice (tied 21.2%) while age 25-39 is seeking parenting advice (28.1%) and 40-54 and 55+ seek home project insights (20.1% and 24.0% respectively)
