One of our favorite breakfasts is French Toast. We have our own chickens and it makes such a big difference when you use fresh eggs. But, if you don’t have your own chickens, not to worry, they do sell eggs in the grocery store. 🙂
I know many of you make French Toast and some of you probably use added ingredients. But you don’t have to. All you need to make this French Toast is bread, eggs, milk and cinnamon sugar.

Total time:
Serves: 8 slices
- 8 slices of Bread
- 3 Large Eggs
- ½ cup of milk
- cinnamon sugar to taste
- Heat a griddle to medium high heat.
- Mix Eggs and milk in a shallow bowl until well blended.
- Add cinnamon to the egg mixture or to the individual pieces (my hubby doesn't like cinnamon so we add it to the other slices)
- Dip the bread into the egg mixture on both sides and put on preheated griddle
- Turn French Toast over once the first side is Golden Brown.
- Be sure both sides are Golden Brown.
- Serve with Sryup, butter, whipped cream and of course bacon.
** Please note- I used a White bread for some of this batch and a Country Potato bread for the rest of the batch. For a healthier option, use Whole Wheat bread.
What are your favorite toppings for your French Toast? My hubby just likes butter. My son and I love butter and syrup and would use whipped cream when we had it. Don’t forget to add fruit like strawberries and bananas for an even healthier breakfast.
