Be Kind ’15: 3 Lessons, 5 Acts, & 7 Gift Ideas
February 17, 2015 is National Random Acts Day! Each year this holiday grows as more, and more, people take time to make a difference. Not only is this a day for National and World organizations to randomly help others, this should also be a day to reach out to show someone, anyone, that you care about all people. Your act doesn’t need to be big. It could be as simple as opening the door for someone, or giving care packages to the homeless.
Random acts of kindness should be performed on anyone you meet – be those close to you, a stranger, the poor, or the wealthy! Everyone NEEDS more kindness! If everyone in the world did just one act of kindness everyday, it would strike a pattern that continues. Take a minute this February to show kindness to someone AND let it be contagious! If you are looking for some help and encouragement, visit our Meet Penny Paperheart Review and see how Hallmark has created a special collection of paper dolls and play sets that teach kindness. Penny Paperheart leaves messages of love and kindness to others by leaving hearts with those messages in places for others to find.
Lessons:
Random acts leave you feeling wonderful and your kids enjoy doing them, but do they know why? Are you teaching them as you go? If you aren’t teaching your children how these acts are contributing to their character, you could be missing a valuable step! Don’t forget to teach the “why” along with the “how”!
Random Acts:
A few years back I saw where a family created care packages for their mail delivery lady in celebration of Random Acts of Kindness Day. They filled a small bag with a water bottle, granola bars, and hand sanitizer. The bag was hung on their mailbox with a thank you note. All random acts matter – big or small! Be creative! Pay attention to those around you and look for opportunities to do something for someone.
