Healthy Snacking ? Top 3 Tips

June 14, 2012 by Pam Maynard

It’s only natural to want a few snacks throughout the course of the day. Snacking is not an inherently evil act, as many nutritionists and dieticians may tell you. Snacking is a great way to suppress hunger between meals, and stabilize your metabolism.

The biggest issue with snacking is that many snacks are simply bad for your health. They either have too many calories, too much fat, are empty calories, or are stuffed with sugars. Making sure that your body gets healthy, wholesome snacks is the best way to ensure that you keep you energy levels high, while also giving your body the nourishment it needs to be in tip top shape.

This means a spike in blood sugar levels, which the body must overcompensate for – hence the crash in energy. You’re then left to grab another snack bar to boost energy, creating a vicious circle. Fresh food will pick you up and keep you up!

Drink Water or Tea

Drinking low / no calorie beverages throughout the day will help you keep off hunger pangs. And, I don’t mean diet colas – water or tea is the best way to go. Keep a bottle on your desk all day – staying hydrated feels great! you’ll be able to
