Everyone likes to have a clean home or business, but you may prefer to use natural cleaning products instead of chemical based ones for better health and a better clean. These products are better for you, and traditionally more maid services today are switching to natural products as well. This article will go over the best natural, DIY cleaning solutions you can create on your own time.
Diluted White Vinegar
Vinegar is acidic enough to eat through most dirt, hard water deposits, and soap scum with ease. It is still gentle enough to use on almost any surface and doesn’t have the strong chemical smell that comes with other cleaning agents. The smell also disappears after the solution has time to dry. For an eight ounce bottle, mix a half of a cup of water with a half of a cup of vinegar. If you want a stronger spray, mix two-thirds of a cup of vinegar into a third of a cup of water. If you don’t like the vinegar smell, you can also add 12 to 15 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Baking Soda
Baking soda is abrasive and has natural properties which can be used as a deodorizer. You can use this to replace chemical-infused scrubbing solutions. To use it, you sprinkle a small amount of the baking soda onto a damp sponge and scrub at bathtub rings or kitchen sinks. For more difficult hard water deposits or stains, make a paste out of the baking soda and water. Apply this paste to the deposits and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. This will cause the deposits to loosen, and you’ll be able to scrub them away easier.
Homemade Glass Cleaner
This recipe uses rubbing alcohol to cut through the film that left on glass surfaces from grease, cigarette smoke, or oils from your hands. To make it, mix one cup of rubbing alcohol with one cup of water. Once those are mixed, add one tablespoon of white vinegar. Now spray it on your glass surfaces and wipe it away.
Stain Remover
This stain remover is great for carpets and clothing stains. To make it, mix two-thirds of a cup of dish soap with two-thirds of a cup of ammonia. In a separate bowl, combine two cups of warm water with six tablespoons of baking soda until the baking soda is dissolved. Now mix both bowls together and add the solution into a spray bottle. Give the bottle a gentle shake, and you’re ready to go. Spray on the solution and scrub it with an old toothbrush.
Natural cleaning agents are an environmentally friendly way to save you money and reduce your exposure to harsh chemicals. They are easy to make, and they can work just as well as chemical cleaners.
