Early Education: 7 Reasons to Put Your Kids in Pre-School

May 5, 2017 by Pam Maynard

The role of kindergarten to a child’s education is often confused. Some parents are firmly against it and argue that it is nothing more than a glorified and expensive babysitting service. While this might be true for some, most pre-schools try hard to launch a child’s education even at this tender age. Normally, they will emphasize colors, shapes, letters and numbers, while at the same time availing the child some playtime. Apart from these, here are the top seven reasons why you need to take your kid to pre-school.

1. Development of Social Skills
Kindergarten will expose your child to his surroundings early. By mingling with other kids and working as a team, he will develop his social skills. A good pre-school will nurture children as they develop socially and help them become responsible towards society.

2. Development of Mental Skills
Pre-school will tap into a child’s curiosity and ensure it is pointed in the right direction. Parents will also get to identify their children’s unique gifts and talents early on.

3. Boost to Physical Development
Pre-schools come with swings, large playgrounds and a raft of co-curricular activities. While jumping, running or even rolling, a child will be developing physically.

4.  Development of Talent and Artistry
Through various classes, a child’s natural talents are identified and nurtured early on. At Kid’s Country Learning Center for instance, children good in music will receive proper guidance with the music classes available. Future artists who show potential early on in art classes also get encouraged to improve on their skills and better themselves.

5. Development of Discipline
Kindergartens will foster good manners in a child by instilling discipline early by introducing the concept of rules. Pre-school is the best place for children to learn that sharing is caring and other basic forms of manners as well. The effect of this will be a responsible future citizen.

6. Boost to Nutrition
The best pre-schools combine physical activity, social interaction and pre-reading with healthy snacks and drinks. The effects of this lie in not only developing a child’s eating habits but also supporting physical development through a balanced diet.

7. Development of Independence
Kindergarten is among the first places a child does a task on their own. With repeated tasks like coloring or completing a puzzle, a child learns and develops to feel proud of his accomplishments. It would, therefore be safe to say Kindergarten helps set the stage for children to be independent in future years.

Clearly, pre-schools offer more than just building blocks and fun. For this reason, a good pre-school education will be invaluable to your child’s education progress. With more and more parents being victims to their careers and busy schedules, the need for good pre-schools to nurture young ones is only further amplified.
