Delectable Chocolate Filled Hatbox by La Maison du Chocolat #Review#GiftsforMom17

May 3, 2017 by Misty Stephens

What better way to tell your mom that you love her this Mothers Day then with a Hatbox  full of La Maison du chocolat.  When she gets this beautiful Hatbox she will be delighted with the delicious hidden treasures inside.  Furthermore this high end French chocolate will show her just how very much she really means to you.

About La Maison du Chocolat

La Maison du Chocolat was founded in 1977, when founder Robert Linxe was 48.  He opened his first boutique in Paris, and it was completely dedicated to chocolate.  The philosopher Jean-Paul Aron even nicknamed Robert “The Sorcerer of Ganache” because he invented modern chocolate and created ganaches with the most delicate flavors.  Robert found a subtle balance that exemplified the signature Maison du Chocolat taste.  Soon after he made his first ganaches with fruit creating his legendary Salvador and Andalousie ganaches.  Then in 1990 La Maison du Chocolat opened a boutique  right in New York.

The beautiful packaging that surrounds the wonderful chocolate is credited to Atelier Hapax.   Since Atelier Hapax has a modern and elegant spin on recycling, Maison packaging has a new beginning.  Now it has boxes, shopping bags, and ribbons we want to keep forever.

Mom’s Thoughts
When this beautiful Tolima Hatbox arrived at my door I was really excited.  The box was well made and had a pretty brown bow tying it shut.  Due to how beautiful and nice the box was I was even more excited about what delectable chocolate awaited just inside.  Then I slowly untied the ribbon savoring the experience, and the feel of the box.  When I got it open it was full of brown crinkle paper with four boxes nestled inside.  In addition to a pretty exterior, these four little boxes were all pretty and three were tied with bows.  The fourth box was a metal tin.  It was fun to open up all the little boxes and see what they had in them.  The tin had dark chocolate squares inside.  Then there was pralines in one box, assorted chocolates in another, and dark chocolate truffles in the last.

I must admit that the chocolate did not last long since I shared some with my children.  It was all very good.  I enjoyed savoring the different types and flavors.  There was one that had passion fruit in it, which was a pleasant surprise.  I really felt very special with all the packaging and fancy chocolate I had sitting in front of me.  It was almost like I was royalty!  La Maison du Chocolat recommends that you eat their chocolates at room temperature to truly appreciate them.  Then cut them in two and let the pieces melt in your mouth to allow time for the flavors to develop.   Since It was all so good, it was a struggle to let them melt slowly but I did.  Then they tasted even better when I gave them time to melt in my mouth.
This refined and classy Hatbox full of La Maison du Chocolat’s celebrated chocolates would make a perfect gift!
