Fold-to-Play: Good for your Brain!
Paper Punk had me hooked after just one look at the fun and colorful creations on their website. My son and I took over a week to start to actually make our first creation- but now we can’t stop! You can see his first creation- Habib the Unicorn below.
What is Paper Punk?
Paper Punk is a LEGO + Origami mash up that was invented by a Stanford design professor and mom with one ambition– to enable people to be creative and make things with their hands in a digitally dominated world through hands-on play. Flat paper transforms into voluminous 3D masterpieces with a few simple folds. No scissors or glue needed. SMART and FUN! Making a Paper Punk looks and tastes like a cupcake, but it is really broccoli for your brain. Ages 6-99+.

Each kit has it’s own build-your-own paper toy robot, cat, dog, unicorn etc. Everything you need is included (no need for scissors or glue!)

Our Favorite Kits:
As you can see, The Horn 002 – aka Habib the Unicorn- was the first fun folding creation we made and it is fantastic! Who knew folding paper, making shapes and combining them to form creatures could be so FUN and REWARDING! Kitty 002 is next on the list and is actually almost done. Pup 002 has to be next, or our German Shepherd will be upset.
My Thoughts:
If you need some fun hands-on activities that are technology-free, Paper Punk is for you! I love how versatile the kits are! You don’t have to make the suggested creation on the box, you can make anything you want. Each kit actually has other recommended creations you can make with the shapes in the kit.
You don’t even have to have any crafting experience- Paper Punk is fun for EVERYONE! I was thinking of getting some kits for my Mom to make- she loves puzzles and crafts- this seems like a great combination of the two!
Paper Punk is top on my list for upcoming Birthday Parties. Not only would these kits make great presents, but they would be a fun activity to do AT the party!
