Be Crafty with 8-Bit Art Kits #review

April 3, 2017 by Pam Maynard

Ever watch a movie or a show where someone has taken sticky notes and made cool designs on the wall or in someone’s office? 8-Bit Art has taken this idea and come up with something really cool! 8-Bit Art makes lots of different kits where you can make well-known characters out of sticky notes.

Sounds fun, right? 8-Bit Art Kits are fun to make. It’s exciting to see the licensed characters come alive as you follow the directions for making images on any flat surface. Each kit contains special custom sticky paper for you to build a perfect mosaic design. The kits also contain detailed instructions on how to place the sticky papers and a specialized “ruler” in order to do so.

I was sent three Nintendo 8-Bit Art sets. All three is of Mario from the Mario Brothers game series in different designs. My son is a big Mario fan, so he was so excited to get them. We tried to put the first image on the wall, but the papers wouldn’t stick (most possibly from the pain on my walls). So, being the queen of alternative methods, I pulled out a poster board and began to put the image together.

This worked out amazingly well! I was so excited because I was planning to use scotch tape if I needed to make it stick. But, I didn’t need to use the tape, the sticky notes worked great on the poster board. And this way, I can move the image anywhere I’d like.

Watching Mario come to life was so much fun. My kids kept looking at it and every few minutes they would comment on how neat it is. The colors of the sticky notes are so on point. And the notes are not the larger ones you see in offices, they are one inch by one inch each.

8-Bit Art comes in lots of different styles and designs. From Nintendo to Halloween, you can find something fun for anyone, young and old.  They would also make great gifts and fun additions to gift baskets.

8-Bit Art Kits are sold in select Target, Bed Bath & Beyond and Game Stop stores across the United States.
