It’s a fact! Kids need to snack!
When my son was younger, we never left home without a snack. Hungry kids are cranky kids! That’s something you figure out really quick- especially if you can’t find a snack when you need it.
Little Bites!

Cheese, Nuts and Raisins:
Growing up, I remember every Sunday afternoon, we would stop at a Cheese Mill, buy a hunk of cheddar and eat it with raisins and nuts when we got home. I love the sweet and salty mixture! Now you can get packaged string Cheese or Cheese cubes and add raisins and nuts and you have a great protein-packed snack that kids love!
Veggie Cups:
Everything is better with dip! Take celery, carrots, grape tomatoes, cucumber, etc and put them in a plastic cup with your child’s favorite dip on the bottom. No worries about double-dipping- everyone gets their own cup! This is also a good way to get kids to try new foods. My son used to eat anything dipped in ranch dressing!
Apples or Celery with Peanut Butter:
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Add a little peanut butter and you have a great snack- the peanut butter adds protein to fuel your kids a little longer. Celery with peanut butter is a great snack too. My mom used to put raisins on top of the peanut butter for a little sweet twist.
Granola Bars:
Whether you buy them in the store or make them yourself, granola bars come in flavors that appeal to even the pickiest of eaters. Be sure they don’t have more sugar than a candy bar!
