Triple Play: A Game Plan For Your Child’s Mind, Body, & Soul #GreatFutures #ad #ic

January 31, 2017 by Victoria

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Boys & Girls Clubs of America as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Growing up I didn’t know what “eating right” or a “balanced diet” meant. The four food groups in our home was muffin, cake, frozen “tv” dinner, and cereal.  It wasn’t until I went through an education segment at my local Boys & Girls Club that I started to understand that other foods existed. The more fruit and vegetables I encountered at my after school program, the more fruit and vegetables I started to ask for at the grocery.  This is exactly why after school and summer programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of America are so important — because they help the entire family learn more about living healthy.

Triple Play at the Boys and Girls Clubs of America

Much like the beginning of my healthy lifestyle education, today’s Boys & Girls Club kids are learning with Triple Play. Triple Play is BGCA’s leading comprehensive health and wellness program that serves young people at Boys & Girls Clubs, giving them the tools and awareness necessary to put them on the path to a great future.  National support from the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation and Coca-Cola make it possible for Boys & Girls Clubs around the country to operate Triple Play.

Triple Play, BGCA’s first comprehensive health and wellness program, strives to improve the overall health of members, ages 6-18, by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutritional habits and helping them develop healthy relationships. More than one million Club members have participated in Triple Play since its introduction in 2005.

I feel better when…

“I FEEL BETTER WHEN” is a key mantra for Boys & Girls Clubs of America at the start of this New Year.  It is an opening to exactly what Triple Play is all about. I feel better when:  I exercise, I’m eating right, I’m spending time with my family and friends, I’m helping others, I’m going to the park with the kids, and I”m enjoying the outdoors.  All of these things are exactly what everyone needs to feed our mind, body, and soul.  Are you feeding your child’s mind, body, and soul at home through a combination of healthy efforts?  You can be a part of the Triple Play program at home by downloading the Triple Play Parents Game Plan.
