3 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day with Your Sweetheart on a Budget

January 12, 2017 by Victoria

Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it and we all know how hard it is to come up with something romantic — and new — each year. For the next few weeks married couples everywhere will be asking themselves: “What can I do for my sweetheart that will etch a lasting memory for years to come? How will I top last year? Can I show him/her how much I care on my budget?”

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with your honey on any budget with our three easy ideas.  All you need is your sweetheart, a blanket, something great to eat, and a way to get there!

3 Valentine's Day Dates on a Budget

Search the internet for places to visit within a short driving distance. Most areas have a scenic byway or drive. These roadways are where beautiful back-roads go through the best parts of your county and state. A quick online search will tell you where to find the most breathtaking area to head to. Pack a special meal, grab a blanket, and don’t tell him/her where you’re heading. Keep your sweetheart guessing!

If your love is the outdoor-type grab your gear and head to you favorite fishing spot! The silence near the water can seem unreal, but when it’s just the two of you, bonding happens!  Fish together while cuddling and listening to your favorite slow songs on your media player.  Don’t forget to bring something sweet to eat and drink too!

All you need is a tank of gas to create memories!  Find your nearest historical city and drive there for a romantic stroll along a historical downtown sidewalk. Often the historical society plans special events, concerts, or themed walks on holidays like Valentine’s Day to make the evening even more special. Best of all, these events are usually free for the public!
