VIZIO, Inc. announced the addition of XUMO, the premier live and video-on-demand (VOD) over-the-top (OTT) service for the digital age, to the VIZIO SmartCast app experience. The service joins other top VIZIO SmartCast-enabled apps like Vudu, Crackle, Hulu, Pluto TV, iHeartRadio, FandangoNOW and Google Play Movies & TV, whose content catalogs can be easily searched at once via the VIZIO SmartCast app1. Users can look for their favorite shows, movies and more across multiple apps, and then simply tap to stream from their mobile device to a VIZIO SmartCast display. In addition, the VIZIO SmartCast app also allows users to adjust settings and control displays from any room in the home.
The VIZIO SmartCast app has been recently updated to provide users with a more streamlined setup and faster overall experience, allowing users to simultaneously search and browse content across multiple apps by genre and text or voice search. Once users find a title, they just tap on the desired service to begin streaming the content directly to their VIZIO SmartCast display. Users can then continue using their mobile devices for other activities without interrupting the stream to the big screen.

The VIZIO SmartCast experience is now further enhanced with access to content from XUMO’s broad collection of more than 70 premium OTT channels such as Time Inc.’s People/Entertainment Weekly Network (PEN) and Sports Illustrated, Tastemade, Refinery29, FailArmy, The Pet Collective from Jukin Media, Funny Or Die, Outside TV Shorts and more. Consumers can easily browse free content from XUMO alongside content catalogs from other popular apps, resulting in a quicker, more seamless streaming video experience.
