Often buying a new car isn’t something we plan for. Sometimes it is something we do by chance. Other times it is because our old vehicle has become unreliable and the entire purchase takes us back. This happened to me before. I had one afternoon to buy a car and I didn’t have a clue where to begin. I ended up purchasing a vehicle for a great deal, but it wasn’t the best I could have chosen for my family. If I had been staying atop of the new-car trends regularly, I would have known that my midsize SUV wasn’t going to work for us after all.
Five Reasons to Test Drive New Vehicles Every Year!
I. It is important to stay atop the new car trends so you can gradually prepare yourself for your next vehicle purchase. Americans purchase a new vehicle every three-four years. That means the time between your current vehicle and your next is always right around the corner! Planning ahead will help you know what you want, how much it will cost, and how long you can expect to keep it!
II. Sometimes there are new innovations being made that our vehicle doesn’t have but another brand might. I like to see those changes myself so I can decide if an after market upgrade will work as effectively or if the change is something I need to add to my “wish list.”
III. Practice, practice, practice! The more you are comfortable on the car lot, the less likely you will be unprepared the next time you are actually looking to shop. (This may also help you get a better price too!)
IV. New Conversations! Don’t tell anyone, but I love test driving new cars so I have something great to talk about! Unlike most consumers, I think the entire new car buying experience is exciting and can strike a different kind of conversation between you and your friends. Try it. Go test drive a few of the 2017 new model vehicles just for fun. Afterwards, meet a friend for coffee and tell her/him all about it. It will give you two something else to talk about and help you break out of the normal routine!
