When I started breastfeeding in 2005 I had no idea how long I would be able to commit to nursing. I was the first mom in my family to even consider such a thing and I knew I would be facing a lot of opposition. Back then, I didn’t buy nursing bras, tanks, or anything because I was afraid I would become more frustrated if I invested too much and was unsuccessful. Now that I have exclusively breastfed three additional children, I have to say — you need proper nursing apparel!
After you commit to nursing your baby everything changes in your wardrobe. Each piece goes in one of two categories:
“I can nurse in this.”
OR
“Put this away until baby is weaned.”
There really is no between when it comes to your wardrobe while nursing because the moment you attempt to wear that high neckline top without a nursing tank underneath, your baby will need you unexpectedly and some form of your torso will become uncomfortably exposed.
This is why breastfeeding moms need nursing apparel!

The top I received to review for Mom Does Reviews is Glamourmom’s Nursing Bra Long Top w/Adjustable Chest Band. I love the length of the top and the black and grey stripes look wonderful layered under my favorite all-black nursing shirts! The adjustable chest band is very helpful in getting the right fit, however, I still think it is important to go up one size during pregnancy and postpartum. I didn’t do this and I wish I had.
